How we work
Reviews begin with a brief: which operator, which licence, which markets. The lead analyst (Maeve) handles research and testing — registration, deposit, bonus trigger, withdrawal attempt — then drafts the review. The editor (Niall) sub-edits for accuracy, re-checks the figures against operator documentation and makes the final scoring call. Nothing is published until both bylines sign off. Internally we use a two-column review template: left column holds the raw observation (what the chat agent said at 23:14, how long the withdrawal took, which games were excluded from wagering); right column holds the published sentence. Any sentence in the right column that cannot be traced to a specific observation in the left column is deleted before publication.
Author cards
Maeve Carden — Games and Live Casino Analyst, Leeds. Twelve years at operator support desks, which taught her how wagering clauses actually play out at the chat window. Writes the slots, live, bonuses and app sections. Previously supported a Malta-licensed casino and a UKGC-licensed sportsbook, which is where the dual-vertical experience comes from. Niall Rushton — Casino & Betting Editor. Fifteen years editing gambling titles, sportsbook background. Writes the sportsbook sections, handles scoring and all methodology questions. Niall is also responsible for the compliance notes — age-verification language, ADR body references, responsible-gaming cross-links.
Roles
Analyst (Maeve Carden): research, hands-on testing, draft. Writes approximately 70% of word count on every review. Editor (Niall Rushton): fact check, scoring, final sign-off, methodology. Writes the remaining 30%, mostly the scoring summary, sportsbook deep-dives and the editorial note at the top. Compliance (Niall, in parallel): age-verification notes, ADR body references, responsible-gaming cross-links. We deliberately keep the team small — fewer handoffs mean fewer places for a wrong figure to slip through. Freelance contributions are not currently accepted; if we ever change that, this page is the first place it will be announced.
How we check facts
Each review page carries a last-checked date. On that date, Maeve re-registers (if a trial account is no longer valid), re-reads the operator's current terms, re-tests the deposit and withdrawal flow and updates the figures line by line. Changes are tracked in our internal review log — if an operator quietly moves wagering from x25 to x40 we will catch it on the next cycle, not after a reader emails us. Where a figure comes from a third-party source (licence number, parent company registration), we link to the source in a reviewer's note at the bottom of the page. Readers who spot a stale figure before we do can email [email protected] — we credit the catch at the next refresh.
